The OSMAW is a Rocket Launcher being able to destroy most vehicles and kill enemies in one shot. Some Vehicles with more than HP will survive it, but still be heavily damaged (the steel plating vehicle modification does NOT affect OSMAW damage). A direct hit from an OSMAW kills anyone who doesn't have Flack jacket or Kevlar. Using this weapon slows you down a lot, making you an easy target.
The OSMAW is often used with carsurfer to fight from top of car, when in a car chase against an OMSAW, it is recommended to fight from larger distances to have enough time to avoid the rocket. Weapons like the Obeya CR762 can do the job well, but a DMR-AV combined with car surfer presents the strongest counter against one of these.
The main weak point of the OSMAW is the wind-up timer, which means you must hold down the fire button for 1.75s before shooting your rocket thus letting ample time for the enemy to kill you.
When fighting an OSMAW user, pay close attention to the sound of the wind-up, which will tell you how close the user is from firing. Most weapons have a time to kill which is faster than 1.75s, so try to kill your enemy before he shoots.
The weapon bears a close resemblance to the real-life Carl Gustav recoilless rifle.
